Frequently asked questions

Q. Do you have any age restrictions?

We welcome riders over the age of 6 years.

Q: Do I need to bring my own riding hat?

Hats are available to hire at a small cost of £2 per ride, however we do advice that you purchase your own hat should you intend to ride regularly.

Q: What clothing should I wear?

Hat: A riding hat may be hired from us but you're welcome to use your own hat, if it meets the current standard.

Footwear: We do not provide riding boots and recommend that you wear a boot with a small heel.
Not open toed sandles or shoes/boots with heavy tread. I.E walking boots. These may get stuck in the stirrup.

Clothing: Full length trousers are required for horse riding. Long sleeved tops are advisable but not essential during hot weather.

Q: Do I need to be an experienced rider to join a hack?

No we take beginner riders too but the more information we have about you i.e height, weight and level of fitness, allows us to partner you with a suitable horse.

Q: Can I bring my own horse on a hack with you?

Please contact us for further details. Your horse will need to be up to date with its vaccinations and have a passport. You will be required to have your own insurance to cover you for public liability whilst riding your own horse.

Q: Are you open all year round and in all weather conditions?

Yes we are open all year round. We do ride in rainy conditions and will not cancel your ride, unless the rain is particularly heavy or we experience stormy conditions. We will do our best to reschedule those rides affected by adverse weather but this cannot be guaranteed at busy times. Payment will not be returned in the event of cancellation due to weather, unless the instructor agrees that the weather is inappropriate to ride in.
